YV Rao entered in the cine field in 1925 and joined in Maniklal Joshi Film Company, Mumbai and acted in some mookies. Later he joined in Arthesher Irani's Imperial Company. He worked in Art Department of General Pictures Corporation, Madras.
Later he worked as assistant director to Raghupathi Prakash and acted in his mookies like 'Gajendra Moksham' and 'Rose of Rajasthan'.

My Grand Mother was(Father's mother)hails from Upadrastha family of Panditha Jagannadha Rayulu.In our village, Munganda,earlier known as Munikhanda Agraharam,we have constructed a "Bhavanam"and running a Library in his name and Panchayat Office in it.
Wer want pay a humble homage to Sri Yaragudipati Varada Rao and his actress Wife Rukmini Amma for Directing a movie on our great great Grand father Panditha Jagannadha Rayulu and for donning the role of Jagannadha Panditha Rayalu also in Tamil and in Hindi also.We also pay homage to Rukmini Amma for her contribution to his life as wife and heroin Lavangi. May their souls rest in peace in the Heavenly Abode.

In our families after that great Sanskrit Scholar, Goddess Saraswati showered her blessigs on me alone, might be,Panditha Jagannadha Rayulu vari Divya aaseessulatho(by his Grace)because the people who are responsible for my up-coming in life have the name Jagannadha. Sri Srikakolapu JagannadhaRao and Durgamba of Machillipatnam(turning point in my life,Education)and chief engineer Sri Koka Jagannadha Rao of Visakhapatnam(entring into Teaching profession, another turning point, getting a job) another Godavarthi Jagannadham
perfomed kanyadanam (marriage)to
me.
Hats off to Y.V.Rao garu,though posthumously,for his cinemas on Jagannadha Panditha rayalu and his life. About 17 Ph.D.s were produced in different Universities in the north,majority of reseaches disproved his links with Lavangi and was fabricated only to disqualify him to get Panditha Raj(Chief Justice)elevation in Darbar,by the other aspirants for that post.
I want to correct myself about a fact that it was Devulapalli Varadarja Ayyangar,a famous Carnatic Vocal Musician who played the Character of Panditha Jagannadha Rayalu in Tamil cinema,but not Sri Y.V.Rao as I wrongly mentioned earlier.Papanasam Sivam wrote the dialogues In 1950,in Hindi cinema Lavangi produced and directed by Y.V.Rao,he himself played the character of Jagannadha Panditha Rayalu.And his Actress Wife played the role of LAVANGI in Hindi also. It is interesting to know that famous Heroin LAKSHMI(Julee,Hindi cinema Fame, and Midhunam Fame is their daughter.
